Wedding: Fong Yan & Philipp

No one would try to argue with you how important the wedding day is. However, it is also important to realize you are not planning for just a wedding day. You are planning for the first day of your marriage. The relationship and lives in marriage is more important.
When two people are united, impossibility is nothing.
Its a day of love, happiness and celebration for florists and restaurateurs. When I was young, I often receive invitation to Birthday Parties with big invitation cards with colorful wordings all over that says "PLEASE COME, I BEG OF YOU!!"
And then when we get older, we got this pink invitation to wedding dinners.. My first time though, look how old we had become!

Mak Heong Weng's sister, Fong Yan's wedding dinner. The Groom is an Austrian, and yes they had their wedding dinner somewhere over there already.
So we took more than an hour to prepare ourselves, mostly because of the necktie.. had to give them lesson for them to learn. And mine is not to say perfect at all, but who cares, from far nobody going to say," hey, of all things your tie ain't perfect.. PAWN NOOB!! HAHA"
No! No one's gonna say that.
So Jordan drove us there, along with me and Nian.

Is held at Sime Darby Convention Centre, where all foods are halal. I remember I went there for dim sum buffet, imaging what they did to the Siew Mai?? They halal it, instead of pork, they replace with PRAWN!! Another P.
But their, dumplings wasn't so bad at all, with my family.. on a buffet, I think they'll go broke. You should see their faces after my meal of dim sum haha!!

Back to the wedding.

So we arrived early, afraid that we're the only ones dressing TOO formal.. we ran to the toilet to double check ourselves. Again with the necktie, I realize Nian gets paranoid whenever things are not perfect, even dressing formal giving him weird thoughts.
The dinner was formal, suit is required... but I don't have any.

Mak Heong Weng, despite his chicken pox.. he still attend the wedding..( SISTER&BROTHER LOVE MA). However, he doesn't look like he had any right? I am not joking.. he seriously having chicken pox right now!! Look how healthy he is..
His face are clearer now though =D

Jordan Lo who drove, the back sit is full of his father ties.. most of them are choices for Nian by the way. One of the guys that didn't wear suit, no reason given.

Soung 'the Bob' Roung, 80% formal 20% casual, notice how he button his shirt? He didn't wear a tie throughout the dinner.. and yes, he looked like that the whole night!!

Nian after giving up on his tie lessons, finally gives in. Comment on how he looked, don't look any different at all right? Everything is just nice, just that he's the only white among our group. The only one that looked like he came back from work..
I'm just saying!!

Chew Eng Liong, aka David Chew. Have to give him credits, not a single complain on how he looked, on how uncomfortable he is, or how the food is. But he do complain about being early and had nothing to do but looking at me running around taking pictures and drinking punch.
He don't take wine, I don't know why.

Tan Ming Hee, one of the elegant looking.. with the suit. Taught most of them how to put on a tie, lucky he's able to hide his flabby tummy under those clothes. And after reading this, he's most probably going to message me saying how much he hated me and all...
or he could just call me and start yelling!

Tan Ming Kim, Ming Hee's brother who needs a new tie, after realizing that he had been wearing his father's tie all the time, he plans to do more shopping for tie after this dinner haha! Oldest among us..

Me, cameraman as usual.. this time with Nian's Canon DIGITAL IXUS 85 IS, His brand new camera! Currently gaining experience in photography.. though compared with some guy I still sucked completely. Must be the camera =D

Brad, came a little later after our long wait at the cocktail party..
Not bad for appearance, nice tie.. matching color..
Fei, with his vest behind the suit. He claimed that it's his normal style, as emcee, as anything with formal, in short. Not to forget his super chunted camera!!!
So, all the time I thought those who really wore tuxedo or suits are going to end up stealing the spotlight and all. But I guess I don't mind them taking it away this way, but all these said.. no one actually bother us... we're more like butlers than guests.

So, we waited for an hour or so until the cocktail party is over.. or more like waiting for the reception table to get ready so we can actually enter the wedding hall and look for our table.
Guess what? We had the 2nd table!! Quire honorable, but the thing is the 2nd table is far left to the wall... so the view was like.. sideways.

That's our table! Along with the view across the hall..which is quite big
Around 45+ tables, each with 10 people.. and this is just a small fry for the wedding couples..

The table settings, the round thing... the one that can rotate the dishes, I don't know what izzit called again, is surrounded by petals of roses, or Lilies, I'm not sure...
But it's pretty.
Maybe that's just Sime Darby styles.
Chi Khan's seat still empty after 3 or 4 dishes.. sadly he's not feeling well due to some rashes or something. Check out his blog for more information.

The brownies, or chocolate cake, or chocolate something. Another Sime Darby style.
Jordan even had one of those before... long long time ago.
They need to work something new already.
Maybe give us a gold coin or something.. I took one of the box home anyway, Don't want to give face.

Aaah, what I loved about weddings. Cakes for all!! Normally if you attend those typical Chinese wedding dinner, the large cake are normally fake.. I don't know about these one, I felt like going up there to touch it but.. you don't do that in Sime Darby, no Not in front of Mak's and their in laws.
So I assume it was real. Didn't get to taste... aaaw~

Ice carvings! Never lick one of these!!! NEVER!! The ice will never let you go!! It's ice!! It'll taste the same plain ice if you lick it!! Though I didn't actually lick or touch it.. but I know!
But you can't touch it too anyway, it's dry ice, they burn!!!
The family and in law's table, funny that there's no one there yet other than the little girl over there. I wonder where's Mak Heong Weng anyway.
Some random shots.
I love petals.. makes me feeling like being in love =D.
Nice petals la of course, like sakura is nice..
or rose..

The menu, click to enlarge if you wanna know what we had that night.
The food was okay, but it's halal so I just missed the porks we usually had in Chinese weddings. PORK!! Long live PORK!

Soon after there's the usual cake cutting ceremony, I was hoping for Philipp will reach for the top cake, but that wouldn't happen now would it haha!?
And there's their long speech, their slide shows of childhood, place they traveled.. it was cool!!
There's a video of it though.. and it's entertaining.

Guess who finally arrived?! Lucky he came right before the Yam Seng session... we needed him!
Right on time though!! Lucky!!

Mak said he actually can hear us from his table, which is quite a distance. Yes, I agree.. we actually roared!! That's the spirit man!! Look at Ming's mouth and Fei Xiang!! Chi Khan giving expression!!

And so, there goes their speech again. It took awhile so some of us went to toilet breaks, but the thing is we missed out the table to table YAM SENG thing, which is quite disappointing because Philipp wanted to show us the german cheer that Mak been talking about.

The slide show of the wedding dinner they had in Austria, Mak had a better photo.. I FORGOT to take it from him heh. But from here you can see how grand was it, they served PORK too!!
Man, I admire these people.. all these made us wondering.. WHEN are we going to get married??

The dance session, I got lucky to able to snap their kissing part. I'm pretty sure of all cameraman I'm the only one had this shot!! YES!! I'M GOD DAMN SURE!!!
agreed, Fei? Bet you didn't have this!
AAhh, romance!

Group picture!! This wedding dinner is a total different story to tell!!
It's not the Chinese with always that over-enthusiastic 40+ year old uncle/auntie who goes on stage and sing some stupid songs from the 70s like Ai Bia Jia Eh Ia, or Moon represents my heart.
There are violin performance, lion dance which is quite surprising, and jazz music is played throughout the whole dinner, which is soothing... my favorite!!!
A groupie with the newly weds! I wanted to stand beside Philipp!!
All these made us wonder again, among the 11 of us, who's going to get married next?
CAST YOUR VOTE!!!

Ooi Chi Khan, on the red carpet. See now you know what I trying to do taking portrait pictures of every person, trying to make a 'Oscar Award' kind of picture, you know.. like those paparazzi's picture on artist, ON THE RED CARPET?
Yea, but I'm so proud of my photography skills either..
thanks~

Let me just say, Hell you can drive at seventeen,
go to college at eighteen, you can legally drink at twenty-one and retire at fifty-five ,so how old do you have to
be…before your love…is real?
Real soon! aye?

And our alcohol awards, ain't this picture like one of those Oscar winning pictures among the gentleman? 11 OF US, Mak's 11th.
So with free booze contributed by Mak's, we head down to TTDI for some relaxation, my feet actually needs one.

We met up with Kitt, had a couple of drinks and Lok-Loks..
it was good!! IT WAS GOOOOOD!!!
Shared some long stories on how we actually knew each other, some can be sentimental, some also may be humoures.. but that makes us into what we are at the present!!
Booze~.

The circle of friends, nothing that can break the bonds in between. Unless you dumb enough to cut it yourself than it's you yourself to be blame to be an outcast!!
NOT MY FAULT~ noooo~
HAHA, I'm not refering to anyone..
So that's pretty much all for the night..
