The Earth Hour

You know, this Earth Hour thing is getting into people these week. Couldn't stop the annoying 8TV ads of switching off the lights for an hour.. it's been running in my head over and over again.

But, why izzit just an hour? Make it a Earth Day and things will be so much easier: A day of not chopping trees, a day of less traffic or better none at all, a day or less open burning, a day of more love making in the dark or a day of total darkness.

So much cooler, nonetheless all these still can be done within an hour too.. oh well. Switch Off Your Lights This Earth Hour™ To Take A Stand Against Climate Change

Earth Hour is a global WWF climate change initiative. Individuals, businesses, governments and communities are invited to turn out their lights for one hour on Saturday March 28, 2009 at 8:30pm to show their support for action on climate change.

Now more and more ads supporting this Earth Hour, even Nuffnang.

Introducing Earth Hour 2009. Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia with 2.2 million homes and businesses turning their lights off for one whole hour. Only a year later and this event has become a global movement with up to 100 million people across 35 countries participating.

On 28 March 2009 millions of people around the globe will unite for one hour and switch off their lights to show that they care about our living planet. Join them at http://www.earthhour.org

What will you be doing during that hour?
Will you take that opportunity to hunt people's house and break in?
I probably switch off the lights and spent that hour blogging, probably my laptop will be running on batteries.

*and I recently learned something about Earthday that makes it pointless.. *if we all turn off our lights.. *the generators that power us are STILL running.. *so that energy is actually wasted.. *also...is people decide to turn on all the lights and electrical stuff at the same time after an hour.. *it can trip fuses and blow substations.. *leading to more waste.. *so there is really no point.. *especially for the fact that power stations don't shut down (where power is actually produced)...

I don't know about you.. But I love blackouts. I might have the chance to see some retards running around naked.
